You receive an official letter, written in Russian, then awkwardly translated. It informs you of the violent death of a certain Alexei Vronski… a distant cousin you’ve never heard of. The consulate insists: you’re the only living relative, and it’s up to you to identify him. Reluctantly, you fly to a remote region of Russia. There, an austere morgue awaits you, half-abandoned, shrouded in fog and silence. The atmosphere is heavy, almost oppressive.
